Extract from Wikipedia Brahmanical Tradition Cosmogony and the Antediluvian history [ edit ] According to the Vedic traditions, human history proceeds in cycles, dependent on the evolutions and dissolutions of the world. Time is divided into four ages – Krita Yuga , Treta Yuga , Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga – collectively forming one Maha Yuga . Seventy-one Mahayugas form a Manvantara , a period of time over which a Manu presides. In each cycle, this Manu is the first man and also the first king and lawgiver. Every Manvantara has its own set of Indra , gods and seven sages. Fourteen Manvantara create a Kalpa (aeon) , after which the creation comes to a close in a periodical destruction called Pralaya . After that, the creation starts all over again in an endless cycle of evolutions and dissolutions. The traditions relate that the present Kalpa is called Varaha . Out of the fourteen manvantaras ...

The Ancient Hindu mythology talks about the fights between devas and asuras who are born to the same father Kashyapa but different mothers and the children born to Aditi are Adityas or Devas and the children born to Diti are called Asuras or Daityas and the children born to the wife Danu are called Danavas. There have been numerous wars between these cousins because they behave differently and believe in different principles.Asuras share the characteristics of craving for more power, more wealth, ego, anger, unprincipled nature, force and violence. There are numerous wars between devas and asuras and vishnu always comes to the rescue of devas and establishing the kingdom of devas again by killing the powerful asuras. After the samudra manthan Vishnu in the Mohini avatar gives amrutha only to devas and not to asuras and then there is a fight between the devas and the asuras.Powerful danavas like Ravana,Hiranyakashipa,Hiranyaksha,Narakasura,Madhu,Kaitabha always fight with Vishnu and eventually get killed but they please Shiva,Brahma and then gain a conditional boon which makes them victorious over devas for some period of time.
The oldest Upanishads mention Devas, and their struggle with the Asuras. The Kaushitaki Upanishad, for example, in Book 4 states that "Indra was weaker than the Asuras when he did not know his own Atman (soul, self).[39] Once Indra had self-knowledge, he became independent, sovereign and victorious over the Asuras"; similarly, states Kaushitaki Upanishad, "the man who knows his inner self gains independence, sovereignty and is unaffected by all evil"
The sixteenth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita states that pure god-like saints are rare and pure demon-like evil are rare among human beings, and the bulk of humanity is multi-charactered with a few or many faults.[5] According to Jeaneane Fowler, the Gita states that desires, aversions, greed, needs, emotions in various forms "are facets of ordinary lives", and it is only when they turn to lust, hate, cravings, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness, hypocrisy, violence, cruelty and such negativity- and destruction-inclined that natural human inclinations metamorphose into something demonic (Asura).
Mahabharata also talks about the fight between cousins kauravas and pandavas and their fight has been depicted as a fight between good and evil and eventually the pandavas win the battle which means dharma wins eventually but pandavas do resort to deceit to win the war and to make dharma win which is supported by Krishna for the greater good.
Today factionalism has become a political reality in India and in some places like Rayalaseema it is a harsh political reality and there are countless examples for this phenomenon.Sriramulu was killed by Gangula Narasimha Reddy and then Ravi has killed Gangula Narasimha reddy and Sane Chenna Reddy and then Suri has killed Ravi.Similar is the case with Bhuma Nagi reddy and Vangaveeti and Devineni Nehru. In these places only the leaders who belong to these factions win elections and most of them engage in politics and criminal activities and have a huge group of followers who are ready to do anything for them. The phenomenon of factionalism happens when the two factions fight for superiority to win elections to win contracts and to get respect among followers and to eventually become leaders of the places they represent.
