Timeline of Hindu Mythological History

Extract from Wikipedia Brahmanical Tradition Cosmogony and the Antediluvian history [ edit ] According to the Vedic traditions, human history proceeds in cycles, dependent on the evolutions and dissolutions of the world. Time is divided into four ages –  Krita Yuga ,  Treta Yuga ,  Dvapara Yuga  and  Kali Yuga  – collectively forming one  Maha Yuga . Seventy-one Mahayugas form a  Manvantara , a period of time over which a  Manu  presides. In each cycle, this Manu is the first man and also the first king and lawgiver. Every Manvantara has its own set of  Indra , gods and seven sages. Fourteen Manvantara create a  Kalpa (aeon) , after which the creation comes to a close in a periodical destruction called  Pralaya . After that, the creation starts all over again in an endless cycle of evolutions and dissolutions. The traditions relate that the present Kalpa is called  Varaha . I would like to discuss few Ground Warfare Strategy cases

1.Battle of Alexander and Darius
In this war between Alexander and Darius.Darius has arranged his army in horizontal lines and in a strategic formation of a box and used his chariots and cavalry and infantry as his prime tools to wage the war while Alexander used his Greek infantry with a box formation and huge spears and light shoes for quick movement and for an effective attack. One infantry division with box formation of Greeks was equal to 10 infantry divisions of Persians and the Greek infantry division also used to trap the chariots in the box by allowing them to enter the box and the using the spears to kill the intruders. The Wedge formation used by Alexander and using more people on the right flank and less people on the left plank and diverting the cavalry to the edge of the horizontal formation of the army giving the impression that he is going to go around the horizontal formation and attack from behind made Darius send his cavalry in that direction to pursue Alexander's cavalry and Alexander had stone pelters behind his Cavalry and when suddenly the Greek stone pelters attacked the Persian enemy cavalry Alexander sensing a gap in the infantry formation  of Persians ordered his cavalry to drive a wedge between the horizontal formation thus dividing it into two and attacking Darius thus defeating Darius who ran away from the battlefield and thus Alexander won the battle even though his army was 10 times smaller than the Darius army.

2.Battle of Vietnam- The Americans has attacked Vietnam hoping that they would secure victory quickly but the jungle warfare and the guerilla warfare and tactics deployed by Vietnamese army and the tunnel network available to them has made it very difficult to win the war.The lack of Geographical knowledge of the forests of American Army  and the sudden attacks from tunnels and bombs planted everywhere in the jungle and attacks in the night and the tactic of staying close to the helicopters and american military when they were being attacked, bombed by helicopters and an effective hospital, supply network in the tunnels made the Vietnamese Army win the war.The same technique was used by the Americans against the Russians in Afghanistan.

3.Boer War - The Dutch were the first to assert their dominance on South Africa and also they were the first who discovered Gold and Diamond Mines in South Africa and when the British asserted that they give the regions where they found Gold,Diamond mines or face war the Dutch chose war and since they were in small numbers used Guerilla warfare tactics to fight the British Army  and resorted to frequent ambushes, lightning strike robberies and the British responded by putting all the family members of the revolutionaries in concentration camps and starving them to death thus destroying the will power of the  revolutionaries to fight the battle. The British eventually won the war and took control of the Gold and Diamond mines.

4.Warfare Tactics of Shivaji - Shivaji inherited from his father a piece of land and few farmers who can farm in his farmlands and he trained the farmers to become soldiers and used to resort to robbery and attacking cities of Mughals and Muslim emperors and he built a network of forts where he had his army and thus slowly attacking on the borders and conquering piece by piece of land he grew into a powerful king and a terror for the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.

5.The British and the Zulus war-  A small kingdom with no advanced weapons like cannons and pistols and rifles was able to defeat the British in one war after another and this is the Zulu kingdom. They used deception, diversion as strategies to score victory in the war. They ambushed the British and ran away and this baited the British army to divide into two and pursue them which led to decrease in strength and then the Zulus would attack with full force the portion of the divided army and thus score victory in the war.

6.Chanakya and his Strategies to bring down the Nanda Empire- Chanakya took shelter in a enemy kingdom of Nanda and become a powerful  and rich person in the enemy kingdom and he also raised a Guerilla army from students and opponents of the Nanda Kingdom and he formed Strategic alliances with the neighbouring kings of Nanda empire by marrying the kings daughters with Chandragupta Maurya and he also succesfully persuaded all the Kingdoms to unify and protect the Indian subcontinent from foreign invaders. He also successfully persuaded  the ministers and the generals and feudataries and spies and few army officials of Nanda kingdom to fight against the corruption and to help in bringing down the Nanda empire. He also employed Naga Kanyas who were poisonous and beautiful women who will deploy beauty trap and make the enemy kings to fall in a love trap and the kings or princes would be killed by kissing the Naga kanya as she is poisonous. Thus he used to eliminate the political rivals and bring peace and security in the kingdom.

The Story of Vijayawada- An Article from Andhrastoriesblogspot.in

Vijayawada…..What is so special in this name?  it’s a great railway junction. It has a living river flowing by its side. It has given India its national flag. It was a place where great leaders who played a crucial role in the Indian independence struggle were born.It has one of the shakti peetas.  It has one of the biggest bus-terminals in the world.  It has the most comfortable weather , an all-time spring scenario. It is a center for education. It is the place where the leaders of the cinema industry were mentored. To put it in one sentence “It is the place where people think!” On the other hand it is that place in India which is only next to Mumbai in terms of rowdy sheets. It is the place rowdies have ruled for decades. It is the place where a girl who steps outside the house is so insecure.  Apart from rowdy history which Ram Gopal Varma is portraying there is the other dark side. It has become a fashion to kill in the name of love. And all started here...
