Time is divided into four ages – Krita Yuga , Treta Yuga , Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga – collectively forming one Maha Yuga . Seventy-one Mahayugas form a Manvantara , a period of time over which a Manu presides. In each cycle, this Manu is the first man and also the first king and lawgiver. Every Manvantara has its own set of Indra , gods and seven sages. Fourteen Manvantara create a Kalpa (aeon) , after which the creation comes to a close in a periodical destruction called Pralaya . Today I would like to discuss three Naval warfare cases and the Strategy that has been deployed in those three cases.These are cases which are called turning point cases which changed the way the destiny of a certain nations involved in these wars .
1.Battle of Radcliffe - During the three kindgoms period in Chinese History there was a warlord in the northern province of China called Cao and he had an incredible Navy and Army which was many times larger than southern Chinese Navy which he commanded as a General.He conquered entire north China and was never defeated in any war.The Southern China had weak states who formed an alliance knowing very well that the North will try to conquer them too and Zhuge Lang was the strategist on the South Chinese Side and Sun Quin and Liu Bui the Chinese warlords and Generals on the Southern Chinese Side.The Northern Chinese Navy has landed in a place in the ocean where it is surrounded by mountains and land on three sides and only one side to go out and many ships were locked with each other so that they may not run away from battle field which restricted their movement and the wind was blowing in their direction and then Zhuge Liang has predicted correctly the change in wind direction and then asked to send few ships to set fire the North Navy ships and because of wind and the ships being tied to each other and is trapped in a place where there is one escape route all the ships have been burnt and the North Chinese NAvy has lost the war.There is a movie called RedCliffe based on this event.
2.Battle of Salamis - In this the Greek Navy of few ships defeated a large Navy of persians by baiting them with misinformation by sending an agent that the Greek Navy generals were fighting with each other and to win the battle a blockade needs to be done in the straits of Salamis and the Perisan Navy has walked into this trap and then overconfident of their numbers they went into the narrow pass of the strait of Salamis and unable to move freely and maneuver and the Greek navy being expert at close combat and Greek Ships far advanced than the Persians the Greeks won the battle which is turning point in Western History.There is a movie called 200 -Part 2 based on this event.
3.Battle of Myeongyang- The Admiral Yi Sun Sin scores a victory in this naval war even though he has very less ships on a very strong Japanese enemy with a large Navy.The Tides and Whirpools are used as a weapon in this movie and theAdmiral turns his people's fear which is paralysing them into Courage by leading with example and potraying courage,wit and sacrifice and nationalism.There is a movie called Admiral based on this event.
