Extract from Wikipedia Brahmanical Tradition Cosmogony and the Antediluvian history [ edit ] According to the Vedic traditions, human history proceeds in cycles, dependent on the evolutions and dissolutions of the world. Time is divided into four ages – Krita Yuga , Treta Yuga , Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga – collectively forming one Maha Yuga . Seventy-one Mahayugas form a Manvantara , a period of time over which a Manu presides. In each cycle, this Manu is the first man and also the first king and lawgiver. Every Manvantara has its own set of Indra , gods and seven sages. Fourteen Manvantara create a Kalpa (aeon) , after which the creation comes to a close in a periodical destruction called Pralaya . After that, the creation starts all over again in an endless cycle of evolutions and dissolutions. The traditions relate that the present Kalpa is called Varaha . Out of the fourteen manvantaras ...
The Roman Empire had promoted slavery in the state and offered protection to the slave owners and punished the slaves who deserted their owners by killing them in the gladiator arena and most of the slaves were bought by wealthy people (Oligarchs)and trained to fight as Gladiators and entertain people by fighting to death and the winner in the Gladiator contest is given freedom from Slavery.Gannicus was a slave who fought the Gladiator contest and has successfully won his freedom from slavery while many others have died a warrior death in the gladiator arena. Some Roman soldiers who rebelled against their superiors were made to become slaves and their wives were also raped and sent to work as slaves in the mining areas or under some wealthy people. One such unfortunate Roman soldier was Spartacus who was condemned to Slavery and his wife raped and sent to become slave as he has not followed the orders given by his superior in the war.Spartacus became a Gladiator and worked in the same place where Gannicus was trained and made a name for him as the undefeated Gladiator and was feared by his opponents in the arena as he along with Crixus had killed a Gladiator who was called Shadow of Death( who was never defeated in any Gladiator contest) in the Arena.
Spartacus vowed to take revenge against the Roman army superior Claudius Glaber who has made his life miserable and has made his life to take a vicious circle path and one filled with bad luck.Spartacus was promised by the slave owner that he would return his wife to him if he will kill the Shadow of Death in the Gladiator contest but his wife was killed by the slave owner and Spartacus was made believe that she was killed by some bandits or murderers.Spartacus came to know of the truth that his wife was killed by his own slave owner he became furious and vowed to kill the slave owner and he was aided in this effort by his fellow Gladiators. This was the first rebellion against Slavery in the Roman Empire and Spartacus was viewed by many as a symbol of suppressed people fighting for their freedom against a slave owning Oligarchy.Spartacus has attacked each Gladiator training slave owners by using Guerilla tactics and thus increased his army of gladiators by recruiting the slave gladiators in his army.Spartacus also attacked the ships in the port which used to bring the slaves into the Roman empire and thus increased the army further. Then he attacked the mining pits where most of the slaves were working and freed most slaves who joined his army and campaign to free all slaves from the brutality of slave owning oligarchs.
Spartacus has then attacked Glaber in the open and made Glaber to attack him near the Mount Vesuvius region and used a remarkable strategy and unusual tactic of using ropes to climb down the mountain in the night and then capture the heavy artillery and weapons and also kill the soldiers while they were sleeping in the night and was successful in killing Glaber. He then became the messiah for all oppressed slaves who followed him to make their lives better and in hope for a better life. The Roman army then sent two more army generals to capture Spartacus but the two army generals were defeated by Spartacus and they were beheaded by him .Then the roman army sent the wealthiest man in Rome Crassus to stop the Slave rebellion and to kill Spartacus.
Crassus tried to trap Spartacus and his army in the winter in open place and surround him with his army on both sides and then starve him to death but the army one side was a deception tactic used by him and there was a huge wall built by him and only few army people were placed there but Spartacus knew this tactic and was able to escape the trap by climbing the wall with few good warriors and then killing all the soldiers on the wall and making a way for himself by making a hole in the wall and using dead corpses to cross the huge pit the Romans have dug.Spartacus was successful in releasing most of the slaves to escape into the German area and gain freedom and in a final showdown between him and Crassus when he was about to kill Crassus he was attacked from behind by other Roman soldiers and was severely wounded but then the Spartacus army had taken his body from the battlefield and was buried in some area which is still unknown but his legacy to fight against oppression against all odds and his capability to win wars by using unusual tactics and his vision to free slaves and make them lead a better life and his view that the injustice done on him by the Roman state and the slave owning oligarchy should not happen to any other individual have made him a remarkable leader who is still remembered today as a person who fought for freedom from oppression and was successful in this effort to a large extent even though for a brief period of time.
